At the First People Centre we have a permanent exhibition of tapestries made by the Centre artists, depicting and exploring /Xam mythologies.
The /Xam myths were recorded by two linguists in the nineteenth century from /Xam prisoners released to their custody.
This astounding event preserved the /Xam culture (although now no one on Earth speaks the /Xam language). The collection of Myth Tapestries at the Centre brings the stories into contemporary life, and invites contemporary interpretation.
